Alternative Fuel Conversion – Driving with (used) frying oil
I conducted a successful mechanical and ecological experiment by adapting an older Mercedes diesel vehicle to run on alternative fuels, specifically straight vegetable oil (SVO) and recycled waste vegetable oil (WVO). This involved making strategic engine modifications and setting up a custom filtration process to purify used frying oil. The project demonstrated a highly practical, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly approach to everyday mobility by drastically lowering fuel costs and reducing the vehicle’s carbon footprint.
